Who we are




Calver Catering is a family run business, which provides high-quality catering for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and other special events. We supply contract catering services to large organisations, specialising in fine dining services for retirement homes, independant living schemes and sheltered accommodation. 

With more than 40 years' experience in catering, managing director Alan Calver and his team of chefs are known for our delicious food, professional service and attention to detail. 
Since setting up in the company in 2010, Calver Catering have provided professional catering services for dozens of special events, including weddings, funerals, birthdays and anniversaries as well as children’s parties, baptisms and office functions. 


The company also provides fine dining services and meals on wheels services for the over 60s.

"We provide high-quality, freshly cooked meals to retirement homes, independant living schemes and nursing care homes, where residents demand a high standard of catering. We also provide a meals on wheels service to the elderly community from some of our contract kitchens. All our meals are cooked daily from high-quality ingredients, using local fresh produce at every oppertunity, and our meals have proved very popular across the board".


In our family run business, food service is the most important function to compliment and support the care services our nurses and carers provide.
The correct nutrition intake can optimise health and the wellbeing of our residents.
For many of our residents, meal times are the focal point and main social event of their day, whether they eat communally or privately in their rooms. Meal times should be a point of enjoyment, with residents looking forward to well prepared, varied foods, based upon nutritious dishes made in house.
We pride ourselves on preparation and presentation and wherever possible we strive to use seasonal vegetables and locally sourced food. We leave nothing to chance, having been in the catering industry for over 40 years we pride ourselves on our knowledge of our customers, needs and requirements.
All of our kitchens hold a 5 star hygiene status that we have maintained since starting our business.
We use a tried and tested method of a standard five – weekly rotating menu in each of our schemes, which our qualified chefs can achieve and deliver using the Company’s excellent suppliers and for very competitive prices.
 The advantages of our menus are:
• A balanced, varied and nutrional diet.
• Sufficient choice (with at least 2 main meal options available each day to choose from)
• A menu that supports any special dietary requirements (we cater for diabetics, vegetarians, gluten free diets, egg free diets and many more)
• A menu that can allow regional variation and allows our Chefs to input the own culinary skills.
The menus are based upon research and feedback from our customers, cooked daily on the premises using fresh (and limited frozen) produce.  There is a strong emphasis on traditional home cooking and home baking.
We offer a breakfast menu which can range from tea and toast to the full English breakfast.
We offer a snack menu, in which residents can choose form hot drinks, homebaked treats,  scrambled egg on wholemeal toast or homemade hot sausage rolls to have mid-morning.
We offer an extensive Lunch menu, for residents to have in the dining room or in the their private rooms.
Some of our schemes offer a dinner service as well.
